Intergalactic tours never go off without a hitch. Here we are, my wife and I stranded on a nowhere planet separated from our group. My thumb is sore from trying to signal the few ships that hover past. My wife is at the end of her rope, honestly I'm at mine too. One last hovercar is heading our way, I jump up and down, my thumb arching as far back as I can go. It slows down, appears to be a bus, a big bus. As it comes to a halt and lowers down we see the side of it in bold big letters: "Izzardo Gi'zzard and the Fuknetic Mayhem". My wife's jaw drops to the ground. Of course, the one bus that picks us up is the tour van for her biggest celebrity crush. She has all the holotapes, the AI-recreated life-size Android, the bandana he threw off from stage on Europa. Welp. help is help. we walk into the tour van and it smells EXACTLY what a rock-star hovervan would smell like in the 2670's. We thank the driver, make our way back. There he is, Izzy Gizzy himself. My wife is speechless, finally meeting him. I shake his hand, thank him profusely. "No problem man, just gotta hit the initiation ritual" he and his friends start laughing. like a lot. They hand us both cups. We both cheers him and drink it...they seem to be stifling laughter. I can't tell if it's a joke or not. "Did you spit in this or something?" i ask him bluntly. "Maybe! or maybe that's just the power of funk my dude." he says. My wife has finished hers, and asks for another.

So I liked this. For better or worse, I thought it was decent. Really sat with my thoughts on this. Much like the penguins dripping 7 in a row, sucking the fun out of everything, this drink took my breath away. But then I remembered I still like hockey… and much like that, I realized this whiskey wasn’t bad. It had some sweetness mixed in with the bite. Maybe more like a sour patch kid. Is there a whiskey term for that? Probably… and probably it makes you sound like a huge douche if you go around taking about “the duality of whiskey” and how it speaks to you or something. But I really just need to know 2 things. Would you put it in your coffee or Dr. Pepper? Well, yes I would, thank you for asking!

Ahhhh beginners bourbon. Basil Hayden? That's 80 proof...I think this is 85 or 86. I mean..this is a nice sipper. Smooth (I HATE THAT WORD), but nice nose and mouth feel. Nothing offensive, a solid easy pour. I think this is Basil Hayden. Changing to 80 proof. Pic is me on stage with my band and our toddlers.

The smell - ewww. Don't like it. The taste - eewwww. Is this a tolerable scotch? I will say the scotches this year have been way better than past years. The last few sips were actually ok. A little orange and just a hint of peat.

Here we are, 75% of the way through. This year I believe I've been born anew Scotch are no longer smoky and gross. This year perhaps they are the whiskey I have enjoyed the most. Day 18, what do we say? What's for dessert after my glass of dinner Cabernet? That is a bourbon and my it's damn good. As the kids say this is an assignment that JK understood. Sam-I-am there is no mystery to what we think. This is an excellent dram, I would always love to drink. Six more days until this year is done. I hope everyone is having a lot of fun.

Smells good! And familiar. The first sip punches hard but leaves quick. Then it was a meh taste in the middle. Finish is like grass and chemicals?

Tasty. I have _no_ idea what it is. Guessing Scotch because I’m getting some peat notes, but I’ve never had Indian whiskey so it might be that. Or a Japanese whiskey. Or bourbon again since I get most of those wrong. 🤣
