Once again the Beyer house is split on this, clearly opposites do attract cause…. Me no likely, but Tim? “I’d buy that.” Sigh…

Vanilla, butterscotch but we did just enjoy a brandy. Sweetness overwhelmingly. Jesus! High octane! Bit of licorice. Nose is much more interesting than the tasting.

Did not like this one at all, the rating is to pacify my husband who “didn’t think it was bad” while I had goosebumps from it!

Lovely all around! That lingering heat is really something. Not my favorite of the calendar, but certainly in my top tier. I dig it!

Well balanced and probably fantastic mixed. But this year I’m dedicated to drinking every dram neat. Not even any ice or water, which was maybe a bad idea? But I have been enjoying it, and finding more hidden flavors as things open up or sit on the palate for a while.

Perfect winter sipper. Getting leather and sweet something that I can't put my finger on. But I will keep trying to figure it out. Mama didn't raise a!l quitter!

I'm thinking this is a finished bourbon...port barrel maybe? Penelope....something like that. Clean nose, nice taste...I hate the word "smooth" but this is a smooth operator.

This feels like another scotch... is it time for a Japanese though? Do I dare risk it? Either was it's another thing I like that I thought I didn't like.

Whoa. Liquid fire, this one. Feels like the highest proof we’ve had so far this year. Overwhelms pretty much everything else. Opened up a bit with some water - I got some spice notes, but the raw alcohol just dominates. Can’t say I’m a fan of this one.

I should listen to my wife. I got the proof correct but guessed Indian - my wife thought it was bourbon. 🤣

A nice red hot cinnamon dram. Should have played with it a bit, ice, cocktail…. But then it was gone.

That’s a lovely, powerful dram. The spiciness is well balanced and lingers well.

"My wish for you is to live a life worthy of the Evertree, may your journey there bring about a deepening of self and a forfeit of greed". I read the note again. And again. I clutch it to my chest, and check the pouch full of his ashes. I stamp out the remaining embers of my campfire, and continue on. I'm close, at least according to the map my grandfather left me. Just past another clearing and over a small creek. I reach the peak of a hill and there it is: the Evertree standing in a valley alone, the size of building. I'm awestruck and even frightened, trees should not be this big. I shake it off, he had warned me to keep my wits lest the magic of the Evertree wreak havoc on my mind. I make my way down, finally at the base. I can't see the top even when I crane my neck. On to my purpose, his final wish: I take the pouch of ashes, and scatter them among the roots. My work done, and the day still young, I turn around to leave but...I'm here. It seems a waste...I cannot help myself, I tap the Evertree for it's sap, collect a small sample to sell. The Tree comes alive! Roots grip my feet, branches reach down and wrap around my torso. The Evertree seems to laugh, it takes the bottle of sap and drips it down my throat tauntingly. It burns, I cough, I can't catch my breath. And when I feel like I'm drowning, suddenly I am back to before I took the sap. My bottle empty, my tap still in my pack. A second chance: I understand now. I leave the Evertree and take my grandfather's final lesson.

Whoo. This thing is hot hot hot. Has some of the traditional caramel notes of a bourbon, but extra spicy. Is it a rye?? Without spearmint?
