‘CAREFUL Lad!’ O’meer yells. I had lost my footing for just a second on a cobblestone, slipping my grip on the chest we both carried. I roll my eyes. Just another shipment of vials to the mainland. We manage our cargo into the carriage, begin our journey to the coast. Hours in, O’meer leans in. ‘Listen hear boyo, i don’t care what’s in that thick skull of yours, but this chest is the most important thing in your life, and it will be for the next 3 days.’ I sigh ‘How many of these have we done old man? We get to the coast, we give the chest to a ship captain, we get paid, we get a pint. What’s the big deal about this one?’ O’meer looks off into the distance, silent for several moments. ‘This one is special boyo. And it’s not going to any captain.’ Our journey continues, we stay and the same inn as always, though O’meer never lets the chest out of his sight. On the last day, the countryside changes. We aren’t heading to the coast, but have turned south. We stop. ‘On your feet boyo, we hand deliver this one’. I step out and see an old castle, ruined and derelict. As we make our way up into the ancient stone structure, I look to O’meer and feel an odd calm fall over me. His stern sense of steadfast purpose is contagious. I follow, carefully carrying the chest. We make our way inside, sconces lit on the walls. We are not alone. Up a winding staircase, we enter a chamber. In a bed, I see a woman, pale as the new moon, beautiful as the dawn. She is still, not moving, perhaps not breathing. ‘Careful now boyo, set it down’ O’meer says, his voice uncharacteristically gentle. He opens the chest, and takes a small vial. Gingerly he cradles the young woman’s head and gives her the drink. Color washes over her, eyes fluttering open. The once dull tapestries adorning her room burst into vibrancy. The stone floors and walls begins to shine, the ruin of this place restores before my very eyes. ‘Thank you my most faithful servant’ she says. ‘Please, take the rest of the vials as a reward.’ And I realize how precious a prize it is.

Is it just this classy courtyard Marriott or do I actually like this one. Getting fruity but also some caramel? Shout out to this Marriott for having a cut glass to drink from. Do you spy my festive advent swag? 🤣

Saltwater! Cydne told me to stop sticking my nose all the way into the glass... honey is subtle. Would go well with cherry cardamom cookies. Something bright and and a touch of citrus. Favorite so far. Touch of pepper. Pairs well with the John Fahey Christmas Music.

Simple, straight forward. Not complex, suggest lighter proof, but refreshing (is that possible for whiskey?)

Like this one more than the J.B., although now it makes more sense why I liked day 7 as much as I did. Something I’m familiar with tasted good. Hmm. Maybe that’s a blessing in disguise. Means I’m an affordable drinker. This one tastes, off the back of day 7, fantastic! So much more flavor the whole way through the taste. See, what you have to understand is that back in the day, JB and day 8 used to be friends. They were always together. Day in and day out they would hang out. I mean, ALWAYS together. Everyone referred to them like a power couple. And like you really have to understand how back in the day they were just the best! Anywayssss, when they got to college JB was like yo, imma just chill and be chill and hangout with everyone. A real people pleaser, you know? But day 8. They were like mannnn fork that. And they joined the drama club. Everyone who knew them was SHOCKED to find out that they weren’t friends anymore. The kids especially. Heartbroken. Regardless, this is good. 🤷🏼‍♂️ no idea what it is, but I’m ok with that too. This is definitely going in my coffee AND Dr. Pepper!

Ok, ok, ok, this was not terrible. I might be crazy, but it smelled a little like chlorine at times, which is actually one of my favorite smells.

Very light color and body. Easy to drink but somewhat forgettable.

I like this, but I only like scotch. So I guessed it was a scotch.

Nice bright floral nose. The taste feels like it has promise at first but it falls a little short for me. A bit too much heat without rounding out the flavor. I’d probably be happy with this if I ordered it out, but I wouldn’t seek it again. Just ok for me, dog.

Clean and floral. Has to be a scotch. It’s delicate and nice in all the right ways.

Every December, my Company hosts an annual sales meeting. My co-worker and I both enjoy whiskey and share the advent calendar. Smooth, easy drinking Scotch. Not too peaty or smokey. A little caramel sweetness on it.

My first taste I was expecting to wince, but I really liked it. No idea what this is though. I’m probably going to just continue to switch up scotch and Irish whiskey, but well, here I am. This one I enjoyed so much I think I’d like it with a few scoops of like chocolate chip cookie dough icecream! But definitely I would put this in my coffee… and Dr. Pepper.

Really you snuck in Jim Beam? JK is turning this whole thing into a meme. Calm down, it was only one night. Don't let JK ruin this for you, try as he might. Today's whiskey, there really isn't much there However, there is another whiskey this one does compare I'm getting deja vu of day four Is this another Irish we are about to explore? Day eight is done Sam-I-am To be honest this was a "meh" dram Scotch or Irish, I'll never get it right But here's promising Sam-I-am will continue to fight

Nothing against Canadians, but I think this is a Canadian Whisky...woof. This is water-plus. No heat, nose, flavor...but I hear they have afforable healthcare and decently behaved government officials. And good hockey.

Easy supper. Reminded us of honeyed toast with a hint of warming spices to keep things interesting.

Very fruity aroma. Is today a trick too? I don't know how to make these guesses. I lost my trust in the system. This is delightfully spicy and warm. It's so light and airy.

Vaguely standard malted barley notes on the nose, but just enough weirdness to encourage me to talk myself into a stupid guess on type. The palate is talking me off the ledge and back into the straight ahead scotch play. Green apple and a hint of iodine maybe. Nothing wrong with it, but nothing exceptional either. Nice long finish. Eminently drinkable. Great company for being snowed in.
