Really nice sip, here. Peaty, but not overwhelming, bit of a burn but still smooth. I dig this one.

Simplicity is a dish best servedโ€ฆsimply. I feel like an old man in a hat sitting in his favorite booth in what used to be a dimly lit casual watering hole but has now become a gastropub with a weird ass menu. But Iโ€™m still in my booth ordering a burger. The burger is this whiskey. Are there better whiskeys? Yes. But they are complicated and Iโ€™m scared so I stick with this one, in my booth, in my hat, while the world passes me by. Itโ€™s fairly smooth, the mouth feel is nice, I just feel like itโ€™s not got a lot going on. Splash of water washes out any roughness so itโ€™s even more drinkable. But to what point and purpose? Whatโ€™s it all for? So we can stay in our booths? So we can all wear hats?

Nose of cherries and molasses. Definitely a bourbon, probably barrel strength. The more I sip it, the better it gets.

Nose has some wood and cherry. Good spicy finish. Not quite up to last night's standard, but it's solid.

Damn, starting out hot. Dried fruit/fruitcake/raisins on the nose. Lots of heat on the first sip. Tastes like a Sherried Cask Scotch?

Almond extract and fruity cherry on the nose with some citrus. Relatively light and smooth easy drinking. Like a candied green Apple finish with a little Cherry. May be young and cheap but I like it.

Solid dram. Is that wheat I taste? Not a fan of wheat โ€ฆor peatโ€ฆor probably most things that rhyme with โ€˜eetโ€™

- Why is it so spicy? - Brown sugar, rich, dark, but the alcohol burn removes some of the capacity to enjoy; far from smooth - Some interesting floral notes

Tastes like a rye-heavy Tennessee whiskey. A bit spicy for my taste but I respect what itโ€™s up to.

Little hot on the initial sip, but it settled down after a couple sips and a drop of water. Little perplexed on the notes but getting some caramel notes with hints of cherry, maybe. Being Day 2, enjoyed this one.

This smells and tastes very familiar. Is this Woodford Double Oak? Plenty of sweetness and a slightly elevated heat. Overall, very solid. Iโ€™d be happy if I ordered this at a bar downtown.

'Twas the night of the second tasting, and all through the room, I took a deep whiff, but the scent had no boom. A faint hint of maple, some vanilla so sweet, But I craved something stronger, a more vivid treat. On first sip, caramel, so smooth and so mild, The flavorโ€™s subdued, not intense or wild. I donโ€™t love it, I donโ€™t hate it, itโ€™s somewhere between, Itโ€™s missing the punch that I hoped to glean. Is it a bourbon? I canโ€™t say with ease, But as a warm-up, itโ€™s gentle, it frees. A quiet beginning, not bold or bizarre, A simple start before the night goes far.
