First taste. What is this nonsense I'm drinking? It's strange and unbecoming of whiskey. I don't understand. It does get better with water. This calendar holds out the weird ones for the end, huh? It must hail from the land of Other but we haven't had Indian yet. I don't trust myself with tastings anymore. I've so enjoyed this advent of tastings. But this one - I'd rather drink that nasty Scotch again.

Thatโ€™s a very woody American whiskey. I get a hint of cherry cola on the nose. Cherries and brown sugar on the palate. Plenty tongue pinch. High proof and how. Spicy boy. Whatever it is, itโ€™s delicious, but I feel like it spent too long in the barrel.

This one changed a bunch as it sat in glass. Went from a bit harsh and grassy to more Sweet and buttery on nose after some proof wore off, but still had a bit of a herby and sweet taste. Rye? High rye bourbon? Letโ€™s roll the f-ing dice. You only live once.

This HAS to be a scotch from one of those areas I don't enjoy the flavors from. Next year I'll remember if it's Islay or not. But if it keeps the flu away, I'll drink it! I can get down with the sweet flavor but not entirely.

This is fantastic. Iโ€™m really loving this. Little bit of sweetness, little bit of peat, fantastically balanced. Iโ€™d like to ow a bottle of this.

Got sweet up front, kerosene in the back. Kinda like a whiskey mullet. This is very good though, we're both fans.

Nose is tight with a general sweetness. Oh wow it's got a great first hit then turns sour. Yearns for water. Brings in some spice.

Ugh this so strong and fiery. I burnt my tongue on hot food and this is not what I need right now lol.

A lot of fire on this one for me. Getting maybe a hint of sweetness after letting it sit a bit with a little ice. Logan wanted her shot at being โ€œinternet famousโ€, so sheโ€™s my photo today. How is it already the 23rd? Hereโ€™s to a great evening ๐ŸŽ„๐Ÿฅƒ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿป

Nice. Fiery - pretty high proof, but mellows a bit with a splash of water. Guessing a rye, but probably wrong. Canโ€™t pick any specific notes, but I like how long it lingers on the tail end.

If I had guessed bourbon every time I wasnโ€™t sure what the dayโ€™s sample was, I would be a lot higher in the rankings. ๐Ÿคฃ

Red hots on the nose, maybe cinnamon with some baking spice. Getting caramel with honey and maybe some orange or citrus? Any who, this is a great change of pace from the previous offering from yesterday for me.

All I'm getting is nail polish on the nose and then comes the first sip. I don't know what this is, but its not for me. Seems pretty high proof but I cant get over the taste.

Bourbon? Rye? Who knows! What I do know is that I _almost_ really like this one. But alas, I donโ€™t. Thereโ€™s a strong, bitter, leathery aftertaste that sets me off. Good flavor though. Light and drinkable, maybe better as a cocktail base.

Ah yes, the cyanide aftertaste. That explains it.

My hands are stained, sticky and sore. The darkness surrounding this underground river isn't helping either. I see a glimmer in the water, another chance. I'm up to my elbow before I hit the muck, reaching around frantically until I feel something. I clutch it and raise it above the surface. No. It's just another shining clam. I discard it along with the rest of the false alarms. I gotta find this damn enchanted fruit before my arm sogs off. It's too important. I go back to the river bank, try again, see a glimmer, am wrong again. I kick the ground and fall to my knees. Whether it's a prayer or a curse I cannot say but the words out of my mouth were answered: there in the sand, another glimmer. I reach into the soft ground where the water kisses the shore. Yes, this is it I found one! I gingerly pull it from the ground, this magical ingredient, the star-shaped gift the gods gave us long ago. Finally, my task is done and I can deliver my cargo. I make my way out of the cave. The fruit is glowing, pulsing to the rhythm of the river. It's intriguing. Maybe more, maybe alluring. Surely they don't need all of it? I take a small nibble off of a star point. A thousand memories hit me at once, not all of them my own. I am in a battle, I am by a campfire, a mermaid is singing, I own a citrus farm, and suddenly I am back in the cave, the fruit gone from my hand, completely consumed. It did not last long, but it is all I ever wanted to taste. I go back to the river, and hunt for another glimmer.

Good balanced scotch with nice smoky smell and fruit on finish. I'd drink it again.

Decent. Mild enough for me to enjoy, not too smoky or peaty.

Ok, this tastes like a Scotch (Speyside+Highlands). On the nose, it has , stay with me, "New Car scent" mixed with Mint and Band-Aids.... We only have 3 more, so I am winging it with the Japanese since that hasnt shown up yet..
