Could be rye, but I'm guessing high rye bourbon

Is this one covid-19? Because I swear I canโ€™t smell it at all.

Enjoyed it a bit more last year. Then again I haven't had too much whiskey lately ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿฝโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Quotes
I think I was just so excited for the advent season that I wasnโ€™t ready to receive this bourbon. Hot out the gate, loved the nose but a slight medicinal character kept me from rating it too high.

Good start to the calendar and what a day to be alive. Love the addition of some fellow Jews to the calendar this year (shout out to the Rubins). Interesting flavor. Easy drink. Not too strong. My pregnant wife thinks it smells so you know this one is good.

Familiar. Pepper, rye grass, apricot. Vanilla. Maybe some pig? Super drinkable.

Hands down, without doubt, this is the drink every young manโ€™s grandfather handed to them and said โ€œtry that, itโ€™ll put some hair on your chestโ€ (not sure if the young women experienced the same, letโ€™s hope not)

Leather. Peat. Tobacco. Summer fruit. I think this is Irish. If it's scotch shame on me. Gotta say I am not a huge fan. Leather is forward like my docksiders but not as bad as some others. Kind of grew on me a bit. Opened up on the fruit. Add a drop of water and bam!

peated scotch for sure. The smoke isn't overwhelming on its own, but it's overpowering everything else here.

Quotes
Lots of smoke, comes off as a scotch from the nose all the way through. Buttery, silky texture to it. Not my favorite on flavor, but still enjoyable.

This one tastes like medicine to me and I feel like I'm getting healthier with every sip.

Smell of scotch but not sure if nose is playing games with me. Got a malt taste when neat

Orange-y, pepper and baking spices. Got some heat on it. Reminds me of Widow Jane. Maybe a little harsh on the palette. The baking spices want to be enjoyed slowly and the turpentine doesn't.

Bottled in bond? This is tasty stuff right here. Super easy on the finish. Sweet upfront. My kind of drinkโ€ฆRye? Iโ€™ll stick with bottled in bond.

Quotes
The smell is familiar, the taste is complex and enthralling. I get hints of spice and plum. The whiskey has a strong punch behind it, with a strong alcohol content. Some type of barrel proof, maybe Bookers.

Woof. The peat really smacks you in the mouth, my wife mentioned a taste of dusty marrow, not a good sign. I like scotch and rather liked it but it is pretty hot and raw, this is what I'd expect a scotch that Willem Dafoe distilled in his shed would taste like. Would drink again but can't kiss my wife after I do.

Harsh on the front end which made us initially suspicious it was a rye. Good nose, hard to nail down what I'm picking up in it though. May be that I scorched my palate by tasting day 2 right before this one.
