Fairly hot. It’s got some tongue pinching astringency and some baking spice notes. I’ve played myself so many times looking for a rye, but there’s not a ton of fruit here. No telltale cherry note.

I got another hunch here. It’s malt, but I don’t think it’s scotch. Is the the Yamazaki 12? Do I detect a hint of Mizunara oak?

Smells Irish. Tastes Irish. Dried apricots, melon, oak. It's a breakfast whiskey for sure. Reminds me of Teelings small batch.

I always wanted to use winter fruit in a tasting note. So here it is. Smell has hint of winter fruit, sweet and spicey. Front end is peppery with loads of rye - as does the finish. Some heat in there so decently high proof. I like this one. Good color. And winter fruit....

Getting some brown sugar/sweet on the front end, got me thinking it's a bourbon. It comes on hot and harsh, I like it but may not have to share it with the family if I pick some up. They were digging it less.

Baking spices and dried fruits on the nose. Possibly a cherry note as I dig in. WOW that's hot. Lots of flavor though. Orchard fruits. Deep, rich caramel. Could this be? Did someone throw a Stagg Jr in here?

I like this a lot. My family did not, biting comments such as 'tastes like I aimed spray adhesive at my mouth instead of some garbage craft project' were thrown at me. Heathens. Peatey (sp?) and delicious.

Think I got spoiled on this one, but I hope I'd get at least the style without help. It's definitely Islay scotch, on the subtle side with the smoke by Islay standards.

Tastes like Scotland. HIghland scotch maybe? peat, smoke, leather but gentle and drinkable. not my favorite but resppectable.

Tricky. You guys put so much high rye bourbon in the line-up I don't know what to say anymore. If drinking rye is cool, consider me Miles Davis.
